Democratic Republic Of Congo
Democratic Republic of Congo’s opposition leader, Moise Katumbi, has been interrogated again by prosecutors in Lubumbashi on the alleged recruitment of foreign mercenaries ahead of the country’s presidential elections.
A large number of the TP Mazembe CEO’s supporters who gathered in front of the prosecutor’s office on Wednesday were again dispersed by tear gas fired by security forces.
Merci à la population pour son immense soutien aujourd'hui. Votre courage, votre attachement à l'Etat de droit, sauveront notre pays!

Those arrested were released a few hours later.
Non-governmental organisations have decried acts of violence meted out by security officials to protesters, claims which have been rejected by the government.
Katumbi was released after he was grilled for 8 hours and has been summoned to appear again on Friday.
The former ally of Joseph Kabila who served as Governor of the Katanga province, recently confirmed his intention to challenge Kabila in the upcoming presidential election in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
